Shifting from Volume to Value in the Pharmacy Benefit Design

Dates:

Presented by Abbvie
Register Now Registration takes place at a third-party website.

About the Webinar:

Treatments for autoimmune inflammatory diseases have revolutionized care for many patients while also contributing to pharmacy spending. Patients who fail to reach treatment goals also consume excess healthcare resources and costs beyond that of the pharmacy benefit.

When achieved, tighter control of autoimmune inflammatory disease improves short and long-term outcomes and is associated with lower healthcare costs. Value based insurance designs that address root causes of inefficient resource consumption and incentivize the clinical nuance of treat-to-target principles may improve both the clinical and health-economic outcomes of costly patient populations.

Attendees Will Learn About:

  • What is Value Based Insurance Design (VBID) and why is clinical nuance necessary for effective implementation?
  • What are the potentially modifiable factors that contribute to gaps in care that raise costs, lower outcomes, or both?
  • How might payors re-think their benefit designs to improve upon the value delivered from their spending in specialty pharmacy.
