The private equity industry is massive, hugely influential, and playing a role in more and more aspects of life in the US and around the world. The industry manages more than $11 trillion in assets and owns companies that employ more than 11.7 million American workers, plus millions more around the world.

The Private Equity Stakeholder Project has sought to research and track the growing role that private equity firms are playing in the healthcare system, looking at the impacts of private equity investment on rural healthcare, healthcare staffing, urgent care, home healthcare and hospice services, behavioral health, and long-term care.
