Jacob A. Timmerman, LMFT
Clinician, Kaiser Permanente Northwest
Jacob A. Timmerman, LMFT, is a mental health clinician and program manager for the Child and Family Therapy team in the Kaiser Permanente Northwest Region. He oversees a team of 10 clinicians with care for over 1,000 patients across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
In this role, Timmerman serves as a collaborative consultant to Kaiser Permanente members, helping people identify and articulate their preferred picture for their life and wellness — working alongside them to take steps to accomplish their therapy goals. He emphasizes education, mindfulness, acceptance, and an action-oriented approach to therapy. He aims to go beyond the static “talk-therapy” model and instead help people engage in a dynamic lifestyle that promotes psychological and emotional wellness.
Additionally, Timmerman’s role as a therapist is deeply rooted in providing culturally responsive care and supporting various care populations. He also provides interventions for a range of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety and has experience addressing trauma and family-of-origin issues.
Timmerman is a native of the Pacific Northwest, born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. He has organizational leadership and public speaking experience and attended George Fox University for counseling and family therapy. Timmerman studied trauma-informed care at the University of Washington Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress, and he is poised to earn his training certification to educate fellow clinicians in the Feedback Informed Care model of therapy with the International Center for Clinical Excellence.
