David Webster, MD, MBA

David serves as Medica's Chief Clinical and Provider Strategy Officer. He leads the strategic direction of Medica's Clinical Services, Pharmacy services, and Quality team. As Health System partnerships are core to Medica's strategy, he leads activities impacting overall provider strategy and innovation. David is the leader of Affordability and value creation across the organization. In addition, David leads the Medica Provider Connectivity strategy of optimizing technology and processes to collaborate with Health Systems to enhance clinical value, improve Quality and lower the cost of care.

Dr. Webster came to Medica from Highmark Health, where he had Executive leadership roles focused on Utilization Management, Provider Collaboration, and enhancing clinical outcomes while lowering the cost of care. Prior to joining Highmark in 2018, Dr. Webster served as Vice President and Medical Officer at Humana for Texas and Louisiana, where he created and implemented multiple innovative, effective programs and processes for population health, care coordination, and utilization management. In addition, he co-led Texas Population Health activities across all business lines.

He previously served as a Medical Leader for Concentra, responsible for leading clinical operations for thirty-six medical centers in multiple Texas markets.

Dr. Webster earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan School Of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business and a Bachelor of Science Major in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Michigan.
