David Jackson

David Jackson brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare from both the provider and the payer perspective. His current focus areas include work to drive health system analytic maturity and outcomes at scale by deploying cloud based technology and a Center of Excellence talent delivery model.–He lead Optum Analytics end-to-end managed analytics offerings, including full outsourced analytic talent, process and technology capabilities for both payer and provider clients.
As Vice President of Professional services for IBM Watson Health, he led a provider analytics and consulting services organization that leveraged IBM Watson Health assets to help hospitals and health systems respond to various business challenges. This work included strategy development and performance improvement under traditional and value-based care arrangements.
Specific practice areas included clinical and operational performance improvement, physician referral management analytics, managed care and payment reform strategy and contracting, ambulatory and post-acute network strategy, children's hospital benchmarking, Medicare Advantage, MSSP and bundled payment consulting and analytics.
During his tenure at Wellmark, BCBS, Mr. Jackson oversaw the growth of analytics capability from a small team of individuals to a cross-functional organization with capabilities to deliver analytics tied to hospital and physician quality and efficiency, population health and clinical risk assessment, prospective payment, individual insurance market segmentation, and bundled payment innovation.
David received an MS in Exercise Physiology, Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina and he graduated in BS, Health Promotion, Biology, Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
He is certified in PQS Lean Process Improvement.
