Dr. Todd Kasdan currently serves as the Behavioral Health (BH) Medical Director of the Aetna/CVS Special Investigations Unit (SIU). He is Board Certified in Psychiatry as well as Addiction Medicine.
Prior to joining Aetna/CVS, Todd held Medical Directorship positions at several health plan competitors of Aetna where he was responsible for various administrative medicine activities including UM (Utilization Management), QM (Quality Management), credentialing, collaborating with sales teams on RFPs (Request for proposals), along with assisting SIU teams as a clinical SME (Subject matter expert). Dr. Kasdan has experience serving as an NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) health plan physician surveyor and has sat on the NCQA ROC (Review Oversight Committee). Prior to entering medical management, Kasdan worked over a decade plus in direct patient care treating the gamut of BH conditions in a variety of levels of care (outpatient to inpatient and all the BH levels in between such as IOP {Intensive outpatient program}, PHP {Partial hospital program}, RTC {Residential treatment center},…).
Dr. Kasdan received his undergraduate degree in Physiology from Michigan State University, earned his MD from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center.
