Soujanya (Chinni) Pulluru MD

Vice President, Clinical Operations, Walmart Health Omnichannel Care

Dr. Soujanya (Chinni) Pulluru is a Family Medicine physician and executive whose unique leadership strengths include Value-Based Care including managing Advanced Payment Model Reform, physician alignment, payer knowledge, regulatory compliance, and analytics. She is recognized for her ability for strategic decision-making. Currently Dr. Pulluru serves as the Vice President of Clinical Operations, Walmart Health Omnichannel Care.

Previously serving as the Interim Chief Medical Officer for Walmart, she helped operationalize over 600 COVID testing centers and managed the company’s COVID response. During this time she also led the clinical expansion of Walmart Health nationally, as well as had an integral role in the acquisition and integration of a national Telehealth platform creating Omnichannel care access. In addition to clinical operations, she currently manages Walmart Health’s VBC transformation. She was recently recognized as 2020 top ten Influential Women in Healthcare from Fierce Healthcare.

Serving from 2015-2019 as Medical Director and Executive Medical Director for Illinois’ largest, 750-physician group – DULY (Formerly Dupage Medical Group) and its subsidiary MSO, Boncura Health Solutions (serving 5000 physicians), Chinni spearheaded enterprise-wide transformation as she guided the organization to adopt Value-Based Care solutions across the continuum of care, successfully launching new care delivery models; consistently exceeded goals for quality and diverse risk portfolios, including multimillion-dollar Alternative Payment Method (APM) contracts. Concurrently, she took P&L ownership of DMG’s $160M Pharmacy Drug and Pharmacoeconomics division leading to dramatic reductions in VBC drug-spend and net margin expansion. Chinni serves on PTAC (PhysicianPayment Technical Committee, advising the Secretary of HHS). She is also on the founder’scouncil for US of Care(A non-profit organization dedicated to healthcare access)and serves on the Board of Advisors of Stellar Health.

In addition to 15+ years as a practicing, board-certified Family Medicine physician, Chinni has served as Thought Leader and Presenter for multiple organizations, including the University of Chicago, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, American Physician’s Group, as well as many Health Equity Platforms. She is a former Executive Committee, officer, and Board Member of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians. She has also served on the Will County, IL Board of Health and volunteered as a Board Member for DuPage Health Coalition.
